Opening of the Hyatt Regency Gurgaon hotel, with 451-rooms, has been announced by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. The hotel is located in New Delhi’s National Capital Region (NCR). The hotel has the largest meeting space and room inventory in the city. Spread over six acres, Hyatt Regency Gurgaon is strategically located off the Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH 8) at the gateway of Gurgaon’s commercial district.

The Delhi Transco has launched an emergency restoration system (ERS) to ensure uninterrupted power supply if transmission lines are damaged due to heavy storm or rain. This system will ensure quick restoration if a high voltage transmission line is damaged. This is first time in Delhi that this system has been used. With the introduction of this system, Delhi Transco will, in an unforeseen emergency, be able to restore power in the shortest possible time said Shakti Sinha CMD, Delhi Transco.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would sign a general consultancy agreement with Kerala Monorail Corporation for the Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode monorail projects, which may together cost Rs 5,581 crore. Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on June 18 said that India must look at channelling insurance and pension funds into the newly-formed infrastructure debt funds (IDFs). Channelling of insurance and pension funds into IDFs is essential as the two funds from both insurance and pension sectors are long-term, Chidambaram said after launching the maiden IDF scheme of IIFCL mutual fund at North Block in Parliament.

The Union government on June 18 stated that it has cleared 16 foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals worth Rs 1,646.87 crore. Based on the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) in its meeting held on May 10, 2013, the government has approved the 16 proposals of FDI. The largest money flow of Rs.961.74 crore is related to acquisition of stakes by foreign promoters in Chennai-based Vijay Television.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) selected Sadbhav Engineering as the successful bidder (L1) for the Rs 64.64 crore construction work of Depot cum Workshop, RCC elevated ramp and other works, which is part of the phase-lll of Delhi MRTS. The scope of the contract also includes civil works for boundary wall, land development works etc. at Badli for Jahangir Puri- Badli Corridor (extension of line- 2).

The Union Power Ministry will approach the Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) seeking 6 million standard cubic meters per day of gas, currently consumed by non-core sectors like steel and petrochemicals, to power plants. Besides, it also wants 6.47 mmscmd of gas State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) will produce from new fields as well as 5.24 mmscmd gas from Gujarat State Petroleum Corp's (GPSC) Deen Dayal West (DDW) gas field in KG basin. The Ministry will request the CCI's approval for pooling price of domestic and imported gas.

For building 42 modern silos or foodgrain storage facilities countrywide, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) will soon invite bids, FCI said on June 17. In a pre-bidding meeting organised recently, FCI received 'overwhelming' response from the private stakeholders for creation of modern storage silos, it said in a statement.
