The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture raised concern over the negative growth of traffic in some major ports owing to decline in iron ore exports, slowdown in the economy etc. In a report submitted to the Parliament, the panel remarked that the decline in cargo volume was not a healthy trend especially at a stage where ports are heading for capacity additions

As per the data of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), budget airline IndiGo has widened its lead over rivals. IndiGo touched a 29.8 per cent market share, the highest since its 2006 launch. Jet Airways (India), which used to be market leader for many years together with subsidiary Jet Konnect, was second at 22.6 per cent.

Prasanna Acharya, head of Directorate of Mines and Geology in Goan government, informed a news agency that the state government expects iron ore mining and exports in the state to resume by December 2013. In Chhattisgarh, KSK Energy Ventures has synchronised its first 600 mw unit of KSK Mahanadi power plant with the national grid and begun power generation. This is part of the 3,600-mw (six units of 600 mw) fuel-integrated power plant in Chhattisgarh. GoAir is considering changing its business model by adding business class seats to its all-economy planes in the backdrop of Kingfisher Airlines exiting the Indian airline market, Italian-born Chief Executive Giorgio De Roni has said.
