DMRC to sign pact with monorail body

National Highway works to be taken up on EPC mode

For time-bound and faster completion of National Highway (NH) projects in Kerala, all works including improvement, development, and maintenance of roads and bridges on NH stretches passing through the State, will be taken up in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode. The decision to adopt the EPC mode instead of the item rate contracts comes in the wake of the latest guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Road Transports and Highways (MRTH), say sources. Madras Atomic Power Station's 2nd unit to re-start by Sept

Station Director of the Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) TJ Kotteeswaran has said that the MAPS' second unit is likely to start functioning only by the end of September, when the installation of a new transformer is expected to be completed. The unit, belonging to India's atomic power plant operator Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), was shut down last month after a fire damaged its transformer. Read more...

FCI to build 42 silos of 2 mn capacity, bids to be called soon

For building 42 modern silos or foodgrain storage facilities countrywide, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) will soon invite bids, FCI said on June 17. DMRC awards Rs 3.8 bn contract to Era Infra for Kochi project

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) awarded a Rs 383.7 crore contract to Era Infra Engineering (EIEL) for the construction of elevated viaduct, five elevated stations at the Kochi Metro Rail corridor in Kerala. The contractor is also responsible for architectural finishing, plumbing works of stations on Alwaye-Petta line of Kochi Metro Rail Project. Kerala to take up clean energy initiatives

Kerala govt to build 22 new roads

The Kerala State Cabinet on June 12 gave its approval to an ambitious project to develop 22 new roads/flyovers in various parts of the state and the State capital Thiruvananthapuram. Flyovers will be built at Palarivattom, Vytilla and Kundanoor on the Edapally-Aroor stretch of the National Highway and at Kalamaserry Apollo junction, as part of the project. Kerala govt to take up Rs100 bn road projects

Kollam port fails to attract cargo vessels
