Taking cognizance that the Arlem-Raia road has become accident-prone South Goa District Collector ND Agrawal held a meeting on April 25 where he promised to implement measures to improve road conditions and required signages would be installed by May 10. The collector who meet PWD officials, traffic police, Maina Curtorim police, Raia panchayat and Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, said that the land acquisition process required for the road widening would be completed shortly.

The Collector directed the panchayat to take a decision to revoke trade licence to a tea shop on the road as it was creating traffic jams and Lourenco advised traffic police to ensure that no vehicle was parked on the road.
