Haldia Dock Complex achieves 26% growth

The Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) under the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) has registered a 26 per cent expansion in cargo in last September as compared with the corresponding month in 2012 despite a fall in crude movement.    With this, it looks to have got over the disaster that it faced after ABG-HBT's exit in October, 2012.    The port, having handled 2.30 million tonne (mt) of cargo in September, hopes to attain a figure of 30 mt by the end of 2013-14. This will be a boost of almost 2 mt over the 2012-13 figures.
