MP developing SEZ in Rau for gems and jewellery industry

Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN) in Madhya Pradesh is attempting to attract traders from gems and jewellery industry to shift their base from Surat in Gujarat to Indore.    

A dedicated special economic zone in Rau in MP is being developed by AKVN, Madhya Pradesh Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has already held a series of talks with Surat diamond traders about their shift.    

The Madhya Pradesh government is developing the project on public, private partnership (PPP) model in an area, measuring 116 hectare (Ha) with a total estimated cost of Rs 161 crore. SEZ cum domestic tariff area would cover about 104 hectares.
