In order to encourage more housing projects in the twin town, the Pimpri-Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) plans to raise floor space index (FSI) to 2.5 from the present 1 for such projects.

At its recent meeting, the authority cleared the policy to make necessary changes in its development plan.

It is learnt that housing projects under the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) have 2.5 FSI and PCNTDA wants to bring its norms in line with MHADA.

PCNTDA would use the 2.5 FSI in the housing projects especially for the economically weaker section. The meeting also approved the budget for 600-flat Walhekarwadi using aluminum framework.

Meanwhile, PCNTDA is considering the request of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) to allow seven storied buildings within its jurisdiction.

During the meeting, the authority gave its principle nod to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation’s (MSRDC) demand of four-acre land at Moshi for setting up of a helipad for faster evacuation of accident victims on E-way.
