Union Shipping Minister GK Vasan has said that the Chennai Port Trust is considering the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association's request to allot it an area on a long-term basis at a concessional rent for sailing activities.
Vasan urged the Trust management to incorporate sailing as a sport to be encouraged in the long term plans and take necessary steps to promote the sport.
Vasan said this in Chennai on September 30. He was inaugurating the fifth Raymond India International Regatta 2013. Over 100 participants from nine countries participated in the regetta.
