Planning Commission approved an annual outlay of Rs 35,500 crore for Madhya Pradesh in 2013-14.
The outlay was finalised during a meeting between Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The state government implemented over 50 projects, both in physical and social infrastructure sectors, under the public-private partnerships (PPP) route. Ahluwalia complimented the state for promoting PPP in infrastructure.
The chief minister sought the support of the plan panel for getting adequate allocation of coal blocks and coal-linkages and forest clearance for power projects in the state.
The chief minister state aimed at becoming energy surplus by 2014 and would provide 24x7 power supply to non-agricultural consumers and 10 hours quality power for agriculture.
He said the Commission aimed at having mid-term appraisal of 12th Plan in the middle of next year and requested States to send a report on their experience on new initiatives for its consideration.
