Allahabad District magistrate Raj Shekhar inspected the ongoing repair work of roads in trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna areas on September 22 in view of the Mahakumbh.
The district magistrate checked the Shastri Bridge where one side of the road is being repaired. The executive engineer of PWD said that ongoing repair of one side of the road would be completed by October 10 and the traffic would be restarted. After that, repair of the other side of the road would be started.
The district magistrate instructed for increasing the number of workers so that the work would be completed within the time frame. He also instructed for getting the quality of road repair checked by the experts of MNNIIT.
The district magistrate also inspected the construction of 5.3 km four-lane near Andawa at the Varansi road. The work would be completed by November 30. About 166 electric poles would be installed on the divider out of which 75 poles have already been erected. The district magistrate also inspected the work of construction of 1.36 km road and drain near Hanumanganj on the Varanasi road.
Raj Shekhar also inspected the ongoing construction of 13.1 four lane on the Mirzapur Road at Naini. The work is expected to be completed till December 15.
