Bihar governmentexpressed willingness to change its policy on renewable energy if it is deemednecessary by experts, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi informed.
Recently, energy experts and policy think tanksrequested the government to frame strong policies on RE with focus on solar,biomass and other renewable sources.
He said that there were lots of potential inrenewable energy sector in the state and that he would discuss with banks formaking a hassle-free system for granting loan to budding entrepreneurs in thissector. The minister said this at a business meeting onrenewable energy.
The deputy CM also said that he would take thehelp of Greenpeace in making the banking process easier. Modi, who is alsoholding finance and commercial taxes portfolios, said that he would discussthis issue with bankers soon.
Greenpeace India organized a business meeting onrenewable energy in the state to discuss the demand for a strong solar policywith mandatory targets for renewable energy (RE) purchase. He appreciated theefforts taken by Greenpeace India in this direction.
