In wake of cyclone on the east coast, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes has directed the Regional Officers and Project Directors of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal to be in full readiness to counter the damages to the national highways and take up all repairs immediately to keep the highways in traffic worthy condition.
A control room is being set up to monitor the situation closely, the Minister said.
