Along with a major order from the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation, L&T Construction, part of the $14 billion Larsen and Toubro, has bagged a total orders worth Rs 1,504 crore. The contract from the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation is for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 400 kv double circuit line of 274 km length in the state, L&T said in a release on August 22.
The TN State government's order to L&T involves turnkey construction along with supply of towers, conductors and insulators Transmission Corporation.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 18 months, the company said. The company said its has secured new orders worth Rs 1,071 crore, including the TN's transmission order. The company bagged another turnkey project from the Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam for carrying out rural electrification works in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
