Gulf Oil International plans to set up second lubricant manufacturing plant at a cost ofRs 150 crore as part of its expansion move and has identifieda few locations in south India.
The Hinduja Group company's first plant is located at Silvassa in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The company is looking at the coastal regions suitable for logistics and shipping purposes and so it is concentrating on Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
It would require land of about 30-40 acre and the capacity of the plant would be around 75,000 tonne per annum.
Gulf Oil President and CEO (Lubricants Business) Ravi Chawla said the company at present spent about two-three per cent of its group revenue for marketing campaign and would double it.
Currently, Gulf Oil has about 33 sales offices and depots across the country.
