No lights on Kohci's MG Road due to Metro work

In Kochi, a 3.7-km stretch of MG Road has now been remained in darkness as a result of the metro train work. Till the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) authorities complete the road widening work and shifting of streetlights from the road median, the stretch will remain darkness, say media reports.    DMRC has provided lights on stretches barricaded for the work on viaduct, other areas remain under darkness, posing a threat to pedestrians who have to also negotiate the treacherous footpath.    The Kochi city corporation has not yet initiated any action to better the situation. The Corporation officials also claim that they have not taken any action due to the ongoing Metro work. According to officials, even if they install new lights, they would have to be replaced later for the Metro work.
