In a statement, the South Eastern Railway said that it has posted 8 per cent growth in earnings from passenger traffic to nearly Rs 196 crore between April and May as against nearly Rs 181 crore in the same period last year.
According to a release, during the last two months SER carried 45.52 million passengers over the 43.29 million passengers during the corresponding period last year registering a near 5 per cent increase.
Of the 45.52 million passengers, 24.80 million were non-suburban and 20.72 million were suburban.
