Airport Authority of India on June 27 undertook a trial run on shifting its international departure operations to the newly constructed terminal. To shift the international departure operations from (the existing) Anna International Terminal to the recently constructed new terminal, a dummy trial run was successfully conducted. Airport Director H S Suresh said in a statement. Accordingly, the in-line baggage system, common user terminal equipment, flight information display system were tested and found to be in order, it said.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa early this year boycotted the inauguration of the new domestic and international terminals by vice-president M Hamid Ansari after the Centre did not make any announcements on naming the second domestic terminal after AIADMK Founder MG Ramachandran.
