Fed up with the lackadaisical attitude of the State authorities in taking up repairs to the pathetic Mariani road in Nagaland, the Mokokchung District Truck Owners Association (MDTOA) has completed road repair on the road from FCI Godown till Indian Oil Petrol Pump.
Reports say that repeated appeals to the State department concerned for the road repair did not bring any results. Thus MDTOA took the initiative and repaired the road stretch. It used 20 loads of boulders with the help of 4 dipper trucks, 2 JCBs and 40 members of the association participated during the repairing work.
The Mariani road is being maintained by 100 RCC (GREF) and due to the deplorable condition of the road, the Hill Area Truck Owners Association had called for a bandh last year.
