The Bihar government has blacklisted 83 contractors, including those engaged in construction of roads in the State, after they failed to complete projects on time, an official said on October 9.
The State has blacklisted contractors that include Shambhavi Engineers of Andaman and Nicobar, DK Engineering of Siliguri and Lanco Infratech of Hyderabad. Bihar Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav said the Government would not give any construction work to the blacklisted contractors.
Yadav said that these contractors not only violated the agreement, they also ignored Government’s repeated request to speed up work and failed to complete it. The contractors would not be allowed to participate in any tenders for road construction in future, said an official from the State Road Construction Department.
The contractors were engaged in road construction work under various schemes in the State, the official said.
