For re-validation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance to Posco company's captive port, the Odisha government has started the process.
The The State had given the clearance to the company in May 2007. Posco’s fresh application for CRZ clearance for its steel plant discharge pipeline has been forwarded to the Odisha Coastal Zone Management Authority.
In 2012, the CRZ clearance lapsed for the port. Now it is required for start of construction on the project. Once approved, the clearance will help the company in getting Environmental Clearance (EC), which had also expired last year.
