TATA, SIA get nod for TATA SIA Airlines joint venture

The Union Corporate Affairs Ministry has given its approval to the Tata’s proposed aviation venture with Singapore Airlines to use the name 'Tata SIA Airlines Limited.'    The joint venture plans to offer full service passenger services on domestic and international routes. Starting the process of incorporating a new company for this JV, Tatas had applied late last month on the Ministry's electronic platform, MCA21, to register this name.    The name has been approved now and the company, Tata SIA Airlines Limited stands registered from Delhi, the Ministry said. The application for registration of this name was filed through submission of form '1A', which is the first step towards incorporation of a new company.
