Total passenger traffic at Indian airports grew just 2.4 percent in June 2013 from the year-ago month.
This represents muted growth in passenger traffic after a healthy 5.6 percent y-o-y rise in May 2013.
In June 2013, passenger traffic contracted 8.4 percent from the preceding month.
But a report by Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) shows that the decline in passenger traffic during the month was just seasonal.
In June 2013, Indian airports handled 13.9 million passengers compared to 13.6 million passengers handled in June 2012, the report shows.
Growth in overall air passenger traffic was affected by the fall in domestic air passenger traffic during June 2013.
Domestic air passenger traffic accounts for 72.2 percent of the total traffic. International passenger traffic increased 14 percent from 3.4 million passengers in June 2012 to 3.9 million passengers in June 2013.
