The skybus project at Margao is to be scrapped by the Konkan Railway Corporation (KRC). The 1.6 km test track at Margao is to be dismantled to prevent recurrent expenditure on it.
The decision was taken following the poor response to its invitation for global expression of interest for upgradation/ maintenance of the skybus test track at Margao.
Since the KRC was incurring only expenditure and not getting revenue for commercial exploitation of the project, the KRC board decided to scrap the skybus project.
