Karnataka government prepared a plan to transform Udupi city into heritage town to conserve the rich cultural heritage of the town.
This information was given by District-in-Charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake at a gathering after unfurling the tricolor in the 67th Independence Day celebrations at Ajjarkadu.
The state government plans to exploit the available tourism potentials in the district and strengthen highway infrastructure to boost connectivity with neighbouring areas.
The government resumed the national highway widening works. A proposal is sent to the government to link three national highways adjoining Udupi-Manipal-Heeriyadka-Karkala-Dhramasthala and Gundia.
Besides, action plan is being designed to introduce parallel stretch linking Heeriyadka-Shirva to Bajpe airport.
