Union Minister of Heavy Industries Praful Patel informed Lok Sabha that power equipment maker BHEL is working on a Rs 3,395 crore order in Uttar Pradesh for UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam.
BHEL is responsible for design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of Boiler, Turbine and Generator Package along with associated auxiliaries, some balance of plant and civil works. The order excludes building switchyard, water system and coal handling plant.
The contract is for two 500 units of Anpara thermal power station located in Sonebhadra district.
The minister also informed that his ministry was developing a 10-year Mission Plan for the development of domestic electrical industry in general.
It is in talks with Ministry of Power regarding feasibility of having a condition of Phased Manufacturing Programme in case of orders for Super-critical power plants.
Patel had earlier informed the Parliament that BHEL is facing some difficulties on account of the delay of new and under construction power projects.
