New Mangalore port receives 9 bids for building new berth

Nine bids have been received by the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) for the construction of berth handling bulk cargo and containers. September 5 was the last date for submitting the bids. Nine companies have submitted the bids and the proposed berth will handle bulk cargo and containers.

The port authorities hoped to issue the work orders by the end of this month.

Considering the technical qualification and the best offer of the bid companies the contract will be awarded, the port said. The bidder who gets the contract will have to complete the project in 20 months. L&T and Gammon India are among the companies who have submitted their bids for this project.
