Ennore Port in Tamil Nadu has stated that Japanese government has identified it (Ennore Port) as a logistic hub in Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and Japan International Cooperation Agency has begun a study in this regard, say media reports.
As part of the Peninsular Region Industrial Development, the government of Japan has shown interest in developing Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. Japanese companies are also keen on using the port, the Ennore Port said.
On the invitation of Akihiro Ohta, Japan Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Indian delegation, led by the Union Shipping Minister GK Vasan was scheduled to visit Japan from November 7.
