A direct flight service from Mangalore to Dubai will be launched by Jet Airways from January 3, the private air carrier said on December 26. The proposed flight will operate six times a week with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft having 170 Economy seats, the airline said in a statement.    

The airline currently operates daily direct flights to Dubai from Delhi and four services a day from Mumbai. The new flight 9W-532 will depart Mangalore at 8 pm and arrive in Dubai at 2230 hours (local time) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, it said. On the return leg, the flight will depart Dubai at 11.30 pm (local time) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and arrive in Mangalore at 0430 hours (local time) next day, it added.    

However, on Fridays, the flight will depart Mangalore at 1900 hours and arrive in Dubai at 2130 hours (local time). On return, it will take off from Dubai at 2230 hours (local time) and arrive Mangalore at 0330 hours (local time) the next day.    

Similarly on Tuesdays, it will depart from Mangalore at 1940 hours and arrive in Dubai at 2210 hours (local time), the airline said.    

The additional services from Mangalore will now complement the airline's existing Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from several cities in India.
