Central Electricity Authority (CEA) latest data shows that coal stock level at power plants have come down to its lowest level in 25 years. The coal supplies from Coal India has dwindled and is falling short of the target. The fuel stock at 103 coal-fired generating plants fell to 7.2 million tonne, the lowest since 2010 comprising 6.58 million tonne of indigenous coal and 7.06 lakh (rpt 7.06 lakh) tonne of imported fuel.
