Bangalore city roads will get a face-lift at a cost of Rs 908 crore in the next few months, said the Chief Minister Siddar­amaiah. He stated this after laying the foundation stone for a grade separator on West of Chord Road in the city.    Siddaramaiah has instructed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to entrust the work to the Karnataka Rural Infras­tructure De­ve­­­lopment Limited (KR­IDL), a government age­ncy.    The Chief Minister hoped that massive road improvement project will change the face of Bengaluru. The roads are in pathetic condition, the lack of vision in developing them being one of the main reasons. Concrete roads are durable, so they should be given priority wherever possible, the CM suggested to the authorities concerned.    Bangalore City In-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy said that government is spending the Rs 908 crore on road development, grade separators and elevated road projects acr­oss the city.    Reddy said that asphalting will commence after Dasara. By January 2014, all arterial roads will get black topping, apart from drains and pat­h­ways being developed, he said.
