Godawari Power & Ispat to set up steel plant in C'garh

A steel plant with a capacity of 1 million tonne has been planned by Godawari Power and Ispat at a cost of Rs 4,500 crore in Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh. The company is a subsidiary of Raipur-based Hira Group. It is now doing feasibility studies for setting up the project.      The company has acquired about 500 acres of land for the plant. The company has not yet decided the product profile of its upcoming plant and it may set up a flat steel manufacturing plant. Godawari Power and Ispat is a small scale steel producer, having a wire rod mill of 25 lakh tonne capacity in Raipur.    However, it has presence in various segments of steel supply chain and has iron ore pellet manufacturing capacity of about 1.8 mtpa (million tonne per annum).
