Rs 170 crore has been set aside to develop areas coming under the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC),Karnataka Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake has said. He was addressing a gathering after laying foundation stone to 2nd phase construction works, costing Rs 30 crore, under the ‘Nagarotthana’ project in Udupi at Thottam-Malpe junction.
A blue print for construction works worth Rs 170 crore is underway, the Minister said.
Priority has been given to provide basic infrastructural facilities and majority sum of the amount will be earmarked for offering roads, underground drainage and drinking water facilities.
He added a proposal for Rs 48 crore is already sent to the Central government for the approval. The proposal for another Rs 60 crore worth construction works is prepared.
