India's largest power producer NTPC on November 1said that it has bagged a Rs 43 crore contract in Bangladesh for providing operations and maintenance (O&M) services. With this NTPC is to foray into the international O&M business.
NTPC Consultancy, a part of the state-run power major, has secured a six-year contract to provide O&M services at the Siddhirganj Peaking Power Plant in Bangladesh. The contract was won through international competitive bidding. The contract is worth about Rs. 43 crore ($8.8 million) and will be funded by the International Development Association.
NTPC has an installed capacity of 34,854 mw.
