At a private equity conclave held in Surat last week, speakers in the programme said
that entrepreneur need to change their mindset and practices to seek private equity. The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) had organised the programme.
PE players like SAIF Partners, GVFL, Motilal Oswal PE, Ambit Pragma Fund and Mumbai Angels participated at the conclave. Seven start-ups and 42 firms participated in one-to-one interaction with 14 venture and private equity players seeking fund ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 400 crore.
According to SGCCI, Surat needs to have more such interaction between entrepreneurs and PE players that would further help to boost the local business and industry. Surat is mainly a business oriented region, where most of the businesses are either funded through banks or family.
