Kolkata Port to float RFP

Media reports suggest that Kolkata Port Trust may soon float the request for proposal (RFP) for its proposed construction of Haldia Dock-2 (North and South) with four jetties. The project will be executed under a PPP (Public–Private Partnership) model.

The dock would be designed to have the capacity to handle 11.7 million tonne of cargo per annum. After the RFP round, the technical and final bids would be floated.  The new facility would be capable of handling the 13.5-metre long Panamax vessels.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the government has approved the port’s Rs 1,700-crore expansion program, which includes the above dock project.
