Re-carpeting of runway at Nagpur's Dr Babasaheb International Airport is to be taken up in the first week of December. The hot mix plant for the purpose is being set up in MIHAN area of the airport, say media reports.
Every ten years airport runways are generally re-carpeted and Nagpur's runway is reportedly not in a very good condition.
The re-carpeting work was to begin a bit earlier but the extended monsoon put it off.
Talks were held with the various airlines operating from the city to adjust the timings in order to squeeze in the re-carpeting work most of which is scheduled to happen during night time.
