Mangalore's Kadri Park is going to be developed at a cost of Rs 5 crore by installing a musical fountain, increasing the greenery quotient and an improved walking-cum-jogging track. Kadri Park is one of the prime lung spaces in Mangalore city. The Rs 5 is to be sanctioned by the State government.
Work on the makeover, as per the plans drawn by elected representatives and authorities concerned, is expected to complete over a period of 12 months. All this development work will take place in around 14.75 acres of land which is divided into three distinct pieces.
While the main park that is spread over seven acres is located adjacent to All India Radio station here, the remaining 1.75-acres of land is where the old deer park used to locate abutting the Jogi Mutt. The remaining six acres of the park is situated off NH 66 in front of the telecom quarters.
