At the seventh state-level committee meeting of Infrastructure Development and Investment Program for Tourism (IDIPT), the Government of Uttarakhand approved proposals amounting to Rs 100 crore to boost tourism infrastructure in the state. The proposals include renovation and development of Almora and Chamoli as heritage sites, provide better amenities to pilgrims in Haridwar. The facilities include toilet complexes, footpaths, safety walls around canals, waste disposal, drainage systems, etc.
