The Government of India has made it compulsory for all proposals requiring cabinet nod to get prior approval from Finance Minister Arun Jaitley involving public private partnerships, railways, disinvestment, and issues recommended by statutory appraisal bodies such as the Telecom Commission and the Foreign Investment Promotion Board.
