Krishnapatnam equipped with five quay cranes

Five quay cranes have been acquired by the Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal (KPCT) and the cranes will be operational from May this year.

The Indian port has acquired five super post-panamax quay cranes manufactured by Doosan with twin lift spreaders and an outreach of 22 rows.

In anticipation of the growth in container volumes, yard facilities at KPCT are being developed from the current 2,000 ground slots to 4,500 by the end of this year, a source said.

The yard equipment is also being supplemented by four rubber tyred gantry cranes,” KPCT said.
