Hilton Worldwide's Hilton Hotels & Resorts is looking to introduce its iconic brand, Waldorf Astoria, in India. The company, which has many properties in the pipeline for the country, is bullish on the growth potential of its mid-market and luxury brands. It is also keen to tap the Tier-II markets of India, says media reports.
Guy Hutchinson, vice-president, Operations - India, Hilton Worldwide, said that the company is on an equal footing with its competitors both from the perspective of the number of hotels trading and the number of hotels that are actually going to come up in the next one or two years.
By the end of this year, the company expects 17 hotels to be trading and it has the second largest pipeline of hotels in the Asia-Pacific region with 21 hotels in various stages of construction, he added.
