The Government of India is seeking World Bank funding to build 12 crore toilets under the Swachh Bharat programme in rural areas. The programme entails an investment of nearly Rs 2 lakh crore over the next five years. The Ministry of drinking water and sanitation has identified Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal
