Vizhinjam port in the state of Kerala is likely to become a bunkering port to tap the potential of the business in view of proximity to the international sea routes and the East-West Shipping Axis. Director of Ports P I Sheik Pareeth has said the process of extending bunkering services from the existing wharf at Vizhinjam port has started. The Department of Ports is gearing up to make Vizhinjam port as a bunkering port. This would help in generating additional revenue for the port, bunkering business likely to bring in change to the harbour and generate employment in the supply and logistics industry.
