The Odisha government has given its nod for Rs 1,292.56 crore four-laning of 163-kilometre State highway between Sambalpur and Rourkela. The project will be implemented under Design, Build, Finance, Operate & Transfer (DBFOT) basis. It is said to be the biggest ever project under public private partnership (PPP) mode in the state. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik headed High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) cleared the project.
The PPP project has been awarded to L&T's Industrial Development Project Limited (IDPL) which was the lowest bidder among 14 international bidders.
L&T will be given 22 years concessional period which includes three years for construction of the project. Land acquisition for the SH-10 will be done in 85 villages. Land for the project will be made available by end of this month.
