Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL) received directive from the ministry of coal to increase despatch of coal to the starving power stations in the country.
The directive comes on the backdrop of disruption in coal movement from Singareni Coalfields in Andhra Pradesh owing to the prevailing Telangana turmoil.
MCL has been asked to send at least 50 rakes per day from Talcher and Ib valley fields now to meet the urgent requirement of power sector in the country as there is no coal movement from the Singareni Coalfields, said chairman cum managing director of MCL AN Sahay.
