A 2.34 mw capacity solar power plant was synchronised by Chandrababu Naidu family owned Heritage Foods in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh on September 30. It is the company's first captive solar power plant. The project is located at Adavimasjidpally village in Mulugu mandal of Medak district.
The project is part of the company’s clean energy initiatives. The power thus generated from the plant will be used for captive purpose for its dairy unit located in Hyderabad. M Sambasiva Rao, president, Heritage Foods, said that the 2.34 mw solar photo-voltaic plant is equipped to supply more than 4 million unit of clean and green energy annually.
The project was completed in record 90 days by Mahindra EPC. The power unit is expected to displace nearly 3,300 mt of carbon dioxide annually. Spread across a 14-acre site, the plant comprises of 9,360 solar PV modules based on multi-crystalline technology.
