The Odisha government has sought Rs 4,242.41 crore fiscal aid from the Union government for repairs and restoration of infrastructure, damaged in the recent cyclone Philain and floods and relief measures.
A memorandum was submitted to Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami by Chief Secretary JK Mohapatra in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the secretariat in Bhubaneswar.
An inter-ministerial team will soon visit the affected areas to assess the damage in detail. The decision on sanction of funds will be taken by a high level team, headed by the Union Agriculture Minister, Anil Goswami said.
