The Maharashtra government is said to be considering to give a relief in power charges to the industries in the state. The State Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has decided to form a group of ministers to recommend ways to reduce electricity charges for industries.
In Mumbai, the State power regulator had recently revised tariffs of all the three private companies in Mumbai, while the state-run Mahavitaran, which supplies electricity to the rest of Maharashtra as well as the city’s eastern suburbs, was asked to recover hefty charges, and a hike is expected.
