Under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) scheme, the Odisha government is to spend Rs 50 crore during this current financial year. The State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently launched the Mission in the State.
Under the scheme, 46 new primary health centres (PHCs) and seven community health centres (CHCs) will be set up while one ANM will be engaged for every 10,000 urban population.
In addition to that, ASHAs will be engaged at slums having 1,500 population. Mahila Arogya Samitis, Ward Swasthya Samitis and City Coordination Samitis will also be involved to carry on the programme.
