Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged an order worth Rs 1,700 crore from Tata Steel for its new six million tonne per annum (MTPA) steel plant in Odisha. L&T Metallurgical & Material Handling, part of L&T Construction, has secured the order for the new six MTPA steel plant being set up at Kalinganagar, Odisha, L&T said in a filing to BSE.
As part of the new steel manufacturing unit, L&T will execute a slew of projects, including, blast furnace, sinter plant, coke oven and construction works for other areas. With this new order L&T has enhanced its capabilities to provide integrated solutions for the entire steel plant, it said.
